A long time Garmin owner, I was fairly sure this data card would be a worthy purchase to accompany us on our trip to France. It was in fact. The card arrives as a micro-SD and is equipped with an adapter for standard SD usage, as was the case for my older Nuvi 660. For our trip covering a large portion of the south of France, the only roads missing were dirt roads the locals had warned us would probably NOT be in the database. The data is quite thorough and the directions/POIs are adequate. I take away one star due to the fact that the routing is a bit strange - often selecting a pathway through a town vs the bypass road that may exist around it; something the 660 doesn't do in the States. France has a very 'roundabout' centric road system (aka, rotary). Several (probably new) roundabouts were not in the database and on a few occasions the voice would select the wrong exit from a given roundabout. For instance, the unit will instruct; "Enter roundabout, take 3rd exit" when the 2nd was what you wanted. This happened less than 3% of the time during the 1000KM trip, but it does happen. If you are listening and not watching the map, you can be briefly misled ("recalculating..."). All things considered, it would have been so much more difficult to navigate to the various locations on our trip without this option card. I highly recommend it to anyone who plans to get behind the wheel while visiting this beautiful country. It's not perfect, but it is SO much better than a paper map in the hands of an unqualified co-pilot (spouse, sibling, whatever).
