If you're looking for a carrying case for your small GPS receiver, the GPS Outfitters MicroPak offers more features than any small case you can buy.Pros:
*Extremely durable construction--well-sewn, thick nylon material is heavy-duty
*Hard plastic internal backing maintains the case's shape well
*Case cradles the GPS receiver nicely
*Rugged 3-way attachment system includes a belt loop, strap loop, and a formidable-looking metal belt clip--your belt or backpack strap will break before this will
*Two mesh side pockets with elastic tops
*Double-zippered front pocket with an internal elastic strap for holding items like batteries in place
*Classy embroidered logoCons:
*When loaded with the GPS receiver, the case's top flap doesn't fully cover the sides of the case, possibly letting in rain or debris. The sides pucker out a bit beyond the edges of the flap.
*The flap also suffers from being a bit too long. As a result, the velcro hooks of the flap barely catch the velcro loops on the case front if the flap is stretched to fix the problem mentioned above. If the velcro is perfectly matched, the gap between the flap and the case body widens. The flap probably needs to be a half inch shorter.Nitpicks:
*Velcro makes for easy access to the main compartment, but always degrades over time
*The sides of the case aren't fully padded (though the case frame extends beyond them enough to offer some protection)Your satisfaction will be based largely on whether the flap issues bother you or not. If the top had been zippered or had a thick elastic stretch component that would allow for a tighter fit, this would have easily been a five star review.
Still, for the cost, this easily beats other cases in versatility, construction, and overall good looks. When it's fully loaded, it truly does resembles a tiny backpack, so yeah, it's even endearing.

Most cases designed for small GPS receivers, while admirably compact, only have enough room for the GPS itself and none for accessories. Not so with the MicroPak carrying case, which includes a front dual-zipper pocket and two side mesh pockets ideal for toting such items as extra batteries, cables, and data cards. The case is made of durable 600-denier polyester, so it'll hold up to heavy use, and its padded main compartment is designed to protect the GPS from bumps, jostles, and drops. The pack also features an internal sheet frame modeled after the frames used by hiking backpacks. The frame maintains a steady shape that won't collapse upon the GPS to further preserve your investment. Hikers will also appreciate the versatile three-way belt clip attachment, which lets you wear the pack on your belt, pack, or shoulder strap, depending on which is most convenient. With the MicroPak, your GPS will hold up durably during your five-day backpacking trip--much better than you will, most likely. The MicroPak is a perfect fit for such small GPS navigators as the Garmin eTrex, Geko, GPS 12, and GPS III/GPS V series, Magellan eXplorist 310, 315, and 330 series, Cobra 100/500 models, and the Lowrance Ifinder.
