(More customer reviews)My Garmin came with the windshield suction cup. After having the life scared out of me numerous times when it falls off I looked for a suitable replacement. At first I got the one that is just a stronger suction aparatus which worked for a while but it didn't last too long. It was also awkward with the longer arm to position it correctly. The Friction Mount works perfectly for my needs. I didn't have to install anything on my truck, and the whole thing fits nicely in my middle console. When I need it, which is often, I just put it on top of the dash and the three weighted legs hold it in place. The only complaint is that it tends to creep a little and after a few hours in the car or multiple stops it will slowly slide down the dash towards the windshield (my dash is slanted in towards the windshield). For my purposes, it was just what I needed.
