(More customer reviews)This AC power unit for the Garmin GPS products (I have a nuvi 5000) is an absolute necessity if you want to avoid using the suction cup mount with cradle when working with the GPS. The cradle should not be removed from the mount as the ball socket will gradually loosen, making adjustment difficult - it won't stay "aimed". Using a separate cradle and this adaptor allows you to check your GPS routes and set up the GPS as if it were plugged into your vehicle power. A green "ON" indicator LED lets you know the transformer is receiving power and supplying tthe GPS with the required current.
