(More customer reviews)I bought this suction cup to use with a compatible garmin GPS and it works very well on glass. It did not work on any dash I tried it on. It adheres to glass securely and I can remove it easily and quickly. I tried it in several other cars (rentals) with the same good result. I have had it now for around 3 months.
The only problem I had was when the windshield was very long with a small angle incline (obviously along with a deep dash.) It was difficult to reach that far in, and there was not enough room between the windshield and the dash to mount the cup low enough on the windshield (if mounted where I could easily reach, and where there was enough room for it, it would have blocked my view a bit, which is bad enough but may also be illegal in some states.) I ended up mounting it on the the driver side window. That worked surprisingly well since I didn't need to open the window, but it is obviously not practical for ongoing use. I suppose any Suction Cup Mount will have this problem thoug.
The speaker is very useful as it makes a substantial difference in volume and clarity over the GPS unit alone.
The power cord that came with the GPS unit is long enough to reach the power outlet even from the side window. It still gets a bit in the way, and one has to be careful in routing it so as not to have it suddenly interfer with one's driving, but I haven't had a problem with that. Again, I suppose this is an inherent problem with any such product and not particular to this brand/model, but it maybe a helpful FYI for someone considering buying one of these things.
