(More customer reviews)This CD ROM is not what it appears to be. For the price, you get only a small region (the selection is at your disgression) of the U.S.. To get more, you have to purchase 'unlock' codes from the manufacturer or an authorized retailer. In addition, the detail is poor. A good set of road maps or U.S.G.S. topographical maps are better. I don't recommend this product.

Garmin MapSource North America Fishing Hot Spots provides fishing information, such as detailed shoreline, depth contours, and navigational aids, and recreational aids, like mile markers, boat ramps, and marinas. You also get extended fishing information, such as lake profiles, which list size, depth, and water source. Anglers will even find helpful hints on the best type of lure to use when catching a particular kind of fish or the best time of year to fish certain areas.
This map detail and data may be viewed on a PC and with data downloaded to select Garmin GPS receivers; however, extended fishing information is only available once it's been downloaded to the GPS.
MapSource Fishing Hot Spots provides coverage for select lakes throughout the United States. Select lakes are contained within determined regions, and a region must be unlocked before it can be used. Unlocking can be done through Garmin's Web site or by phone. With the purchase of MapSource Fishing Hot Spots, you will have access to one region area of your choice. Please note: The trip and waypoint management functions of this product work with nearly all Garmin GPS units, excluding the GPS100 family and panel mount aviation units. The map download features of this product will work only with the Garmin GPSMAP 162 and GPSMAP 168 Sounder.
