Wanted to bring my Garmin Nuvi 255 with me while touring on my bike. Most car GPS last about 4 hrs on internal battery so this item allows you to extend its use. One small problem: I wanted to use my NiMH rechargeable AA 2500 ah batteries but found they were "TOO FAT" to fit side by side. Will have to find thinner ones. Don't want to use Alkalines as they lose their charge too quick. Also as this item has a short cord (20") will have to keep GPS & battery booster in waterproof small bag. Will still be able to hear any directions & can still use buttons. Will add more details when I use this on a day long trek. Just as an aside: the company was very responsive when I had questions before I bought this item. They also seem to have a very extensive product line ... lots of ideas for every use.
