We bought the first for $499.00 when they initially were offered by Amazon. We bought this, our second one, refurbished, thinking that since it came with the full 1 year warranty what could go wrong?
In short, this unit continued to tell us we were in Chicago, even though we're in New England. We updated the software, took the unit for a ride, and still it reported the signal it was getting was too weak, even though our functioning 3790LMT was awesome, locked onto it's satellites quickly, and did it's job well as always.
Because we know how great this unit can be (when it functions as advertised) we give this non-functioning unit unit a 2-star rating instead of 1-star.
We obviously opted to return this item for a refund. It will take 3-5 days for Amazon to process the refund (no problem there). Then it will take another 2 days to get another new (not refurbished) unit from Amazon via Prime. If we simply ordered a new one instead of the "refurb" we'd already be enjoying it.
Buying a "refurb" didn't work for us. It may work for you. Just beware.
